Alexander Technique for Riders

In master classes and private lessons we can work on or off the horse. A wooden saddle horse is available to use with or without a saddle. Table work is possible for chronic pain or fatigue.

  • Experience relief from excess tension and pain from misuse of your body during riding and handling horse gear
  • Avoid future injuries that will limit your riding ability by changing your riding habits now
  • Become more at ease and more centered on the horse. Improve your balance and reduce your fear of falling.
  • Sit with a deeper seat, legs and heels releasing down without force
  • Direct and control a horse with subtle motions of your whole body with less effort.
  • See the environment with a broader softer focus, without focusing on the ground. Visual information comes to the back of the eye, at the edge of the brain
  • Include the horse and yourself in the environment, always in relationship to gravity and the ground
  • Ground through your body and the horse’s body into the earth.
